Part 121

Part 121 governs operations using aircraft over 30 seats or 7500 pounds maximum payload. This includes virtually all airline operations. An exception to this is the Commuter Operation. Scheduled Commuter operations of 10 or more seats must operate under Part 121.

Following are the certification classifications under Part 121:

Domestic Operations – Authorizes carriage of passengers and cargo in domestic and scheduled and non-scheduled operations.

Domestic and Flag Operations – Authorizes carriage of passengers and cargo in domestic and international scheduled and non-scheduled operations.
                                            Supplemental Operations - Authorizes non-scheduled passenger and scheduled cargo operations                                             in domestic alone or domestic and international operations.
